Family-run, independent hotel with international influences
The story of the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon is one of family, tradition, community and above all else a passion for Irish hospitality. It brings together the experience and influences of the best of international hotels with a lifetime spent immersed in Irish hospitality.
Family-owned and managed
Brothers and co-owners Ciaran and John Kelly, natives of Mohill in Co Leitrim, belong to a tradition of family-run hotels built from scratch to success. Now one of the biggest employers in Co Leitrim, they are a genuine homegrown success story. They were introduced to their trade at an early age by their Grandmother who bravely started a hotel in what was once the bank in Mohill and soon became the well-known Kelly’s Hotel. As young boys the brothers remember standing on a step to serve behind the bar which was in fact the old bank counter, as they were too small reach over it!
Ciaran is a highly experienced hotelier having managed 5-star properties in Europe, America, Canada and Asia during his extensive travels abroad. Returning to Ireland was an easy decision when it involved the chance to open and run a hotel in his home county with his brother John. Meanwhile John was also gaining valuable experience abroad, and then returned to run the famous Kelly’s Hotel.
Always aiming to exceed expectations
Together they have strived to reach far beyond the remit of a regional hotel and to aspire to standards of service and product that exceed expectations. They have never bowed to limits of the imagination or of location and are extremely proud of having created the wow factor with the Landmark Hotel.
